The cart looks upon the horizon, pondering. And pondering. And pondering.

It was a cloudy, foggy day
A frail little woman made her way
Across the lot, where none made a sound
Then suddenly, she fell through the ground

Her cart had fallen too
Crushed her little body right into
An amalgamate of bloody parts
Then slowly came a beating heart

“No one to use me”
“How did one come to lose me?”

Won’t someone come push me away?
Fill me with hope for one more day
Kick and step upon this cage
Of this broken, shattered heart

Won’t you take me in your arms?
Promise me I won’t be left in harm
Why did everyone have to be so far?
Now on a little island lives a lonely shopping
Cart

Now the sky, it seems so blue
No sign of heaven appears to come through
The wheels on my body, they start to rust
And I can’t find myself to move

“I don’t care if you wanna abuse me”
“Just promise that you won’t lose me”

Can’t you hear me shouting out loud?
How I wish you’d come and break me down
To only be back with you right now
I’ll ignore all the cracks and the scars

Won’t you take me in your arms?
Promise me I won’t be left in harm
Why did everyone have to be so far?
Now on a little island lives a lonely shopping

Why do they only see me, whenever they’re needy?
They just take everything, being so greedy
Now the weeds in the overgrowth, they’re growing over me.
The horizon and blue sky—
The thought of you
Being the last thing that I ever see

Someone, please… don’t leave me alone
There’s nowhere else for me to go and roam
My cage is empty, please take me home
God, wherever you are:

Won’t you take me in your arms?
Promise me I won’t be left in harm
My voice is broken, my soul torn apart
Now on a little island lives a lonely shopping
